2022 - present

I currently work at the New York Athletic Club, where I’m able to combine my passions for sports and writing. As Assistant Editor & Special Projects Coordinator, I am primarily involved in the publication of the NYAC’s monthly magazine, The Winged Foot. In this role, I write articles, edit submissions, design layouts, and craft ad copy, among other responsibilities. I also manage the display and classified advertising in the magazine, communicating directly with present and potential advertisers.

In addition to working at the NYAC, I provide freelance copy editing services to professors and PhD students within the Department of Statistics and the Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University.

2019 - 2021

I am a recent graduate of the Master of Fine Arts program at Columbia University, where I spent two years writing, editing, and analyzing fiction. The workshops and seminars that I completed during that time bolstered my overall writing craft, especially regarding narrative cohesion, tone consistency, and strategic use of language.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to gain teaching experience. During my first year of the program, I taught creative writing to fifth graders at Livingston Elementary. I worked with adults the following year through the National on Mental Illness (NAMI). Both classes were enlightening, not only as a teacher but also as a fellow artist. Together, we practiced using creative writing as a form of self-expression, as an outlet, and as a vehicle for positive change.

2017 - 2019

For two years, after graduating from the NYU Summer Publishing Institute in 2017, I worked as a Sales Planning Assistant for the Knopf Doubleday Group at Penguin Random House. During those two years, I was able to apply my administrative and organizational skills while working closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, publicity, editorial, and production. My other responsibilities included coordinating marketing meetings, circulating weekly updates, managing galley inventories, and even dressing up as a secretary to promote The Secrets We Kept by Lara Prescott at BookExpo (pictured with Madeline McIntosh, CEO of Penguin Random House). The fast-paced and unique nature of this job, along with the required juggling of numerous detail-oriented projects, meant I had to prove myself capable of honoring deadlines and performing well under pressure.

2013 - 2017

Prior to moving to New York, I grew up in Minneapolis and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) in May of 2017 as an English major and a business minor. As a member of the Concordia College Women's Division III Hockey team, I was a motivated student-athlete, spending six months of each school year balancing a demanding athletic schedule with a rigorous academic workload. My academic achievements earned me a continual spot on the Dean's List as well as the English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta.
